Sometimes you wonder where your own personal design dna comes from. My father is a boatbuilder and you could say that I grew up in a boatyard. Actually, my first 6 years after school I was working with my father, mother and brother in the family boatyard. We designed, built and sold our own boats. But thats another story. The boat on the picture is a little bit older. My father designed and built it in 1946 when he was 19 years old. I have only seen it on pictures because it was sold long before I was born. But my father was a keen photographer in early years and I was fascinated by his black and white photo albums when I was young. This boat was ofcourse well represented in these albums and today I understand how important the lines of “Delfin” has been for my own aesthetics.
